JAEJIN : My first time singing in Japan, the memory is still clear! It is the first time I've travelled to the other country, and Japan have a lot of famous bands. What comment will I receive in Japan? That really made me uneasy, and that left me uncertained for quite some time.
MINHWAN : My strongest impression is the time we recorded our songs in Japan. I think at that time, our band's strength had improved a lot and we're growing to a more mature stage. Because we're staying in Japan at that time, we can focus more at that surrounding. We were determined to pratice, record songs and do our best for our album. Because of our passion, I think that is the time where we performed the best! Hehe.
SEUNGHYUN : After I've joined FT Island, my first show is in Japan, so that is where my skills is improving! After being a member of FT Island, I'll start to do whatever the others told me to do! Haha!
HONGGI : It's true! Every performances that we have done is our experience and it is very important!
E-POP : Overall, does Japan's promotions activities and studying leave a lot of memories for FT Island?
HONGGI : We have more memories of us working hard. It is because the condition in Korea and Japan is not the same. The schedule in Japan is very packed and there is a lot of things we need to keep practicing, so everything is difficult, but when we look back now, this process is helping us to get stronger and improve. To be honest, the tiredness and the difficultness is the same when we're in Korea!
E-POP : What do you think is the most important thing when it comes to lyrics composing?
JAEJIN : I think it is the most important to write out our feelings without disguise. It is not that good to borrow other's people feeling or lyrics because we wouldn't now the feeling ourself and the song will not sound as nice as it would be. So now we could only write lyrics that only people around our age would write.
SEUNGHYUN : Melody. I hope everyone could sway their body with the melody without caring other people's perspective after listening to our songs.
E-POP : What is the most disturbing thing when you're composing?
JAEJIN : When we couldn't fins a suitable word or sentence! It is tough to find a word that can suit the melody and we don't have much time, so it is quite disturbing for us. But we will always change our mood to a more serious one when it's time to pass up our works. It is more difficult to write a fast song because you will need to insert a correct word at a correct timing, with not it will be tough when performing it. Solving all this problem is not an easy task!
HONGGI : Me too! Thank god we have done a lot of practice and tries, and also learned to perform other fast songs. All we need to do is keep our heart motivated.
E-POP : Is lyrics composing tough to FT Island?
HONGGI : I think it's tough! Although it's tough, everyone wants to perform their own songs, and the experience is the most important thing while composing, but all of us haven't have enough experience and we are not mature enough....
SEUNGHYUN : We can write lyrics, we can also compose melody. But composing isn't the most important of all. The most important thins is to compose a song what is nice, and we haven't have one that is nice yet.
E-POP : Is there any new aims for FT Island in the year 2011?
HONGGI : The "idol" us is already in the past, we are now putting our attention into live performances instead of tv recordings, and our personal life would not be limited to only being an "idol".
JONGHUN : Maybe this will lead us to having less dans, but we all understand that the choice we make is to produce more better music, and I think the fans will understand, and that's why I think we're a real "band".
HONGGI : Although we need to change other people's perspective towards us and it is not an easy job, but there will be a day where evryone could feel that we're working hard.
MINHWAN : Although we still unmature, and look childish, but we're slowly growing up now, and we have make a lot of music, and i hope there will be more and more people recognising us.
JAEJIN : As a band name FT Island, we should perform more songs of our own, and also practice a lot more.
SEUNGHYUN : Sometimes we will see negative comments towards us, but we're used to it already. We will ignore it and keep doing our best.
HONGGI : Everytime we finished a new song that is composed by us, we will be excited when we hand it in to our company and also to the music company in Japan. The experience of all this things, we can have a album that is fully composed by us.
Although as a primadonna I'll be sad that all of you will have lesser time in tv programmes, but it's okay as long as you're doing something you love and produce more great music for us! <3 Hwaiting!
